Theory of Cognition & Cognitive Mapping

Theory of Cognition: It is all about understanding the thought processes of human beings.  It is a part of learning psychology.  It is applied in various subjects and domains such as linguistics, neurology, psychology, and computer science.  In psychology, cognition deals with the study of mental functions and intelligent entities.  Social cognitive theory is a branch of cognitive theory and it is applied in advertisement industry.

Cognitive map: A cognitive map is a mental image by which an individual can recall and decode information about the locations and attributes of phenomena.  Cognitive maps are used in various fields such as psychology, education, and architecture.  Students use this method for memorizing essays, speeches, and long answer questions.
