Writing for readers with different interest levels

Writing for readers with different interest levels

Readers belong to different levels of interest and a writer should write in such a way that all the levels of readers must show interest to read the writing and get their desired level of information.
The interest levels of readers can be defined as follows:
  • No interest
  • Very Low Interest
  • Low Interest
  • Reasonable Interest
  • Detailed/Higher Interest
  • Research scholars
No Interest: People with no interest in your topic do not look at your writing at all, even if they are provided with your writing. They simply skip your writing and the writer needs not to bother about them.
Very Low Interest: Most of the readers, with low-level interest, just read the title. They form an opinion about your writing just by reading the title. Bearing such group of readers in mind, the title should be written in such a way that title must explain the gist (basic idea) of the writing.  Title must be clear, simple, meaningful and attractive. If the title is attractive, it may create an interest even among the readers with very low interest, and may make them to go through the writing further.
The summary of above essay can be represented as below mentioned table:

Low Interest: Readers, with lower levels of interest, simply go through the summary, which gives the overall description of the write-up. These summaries are also useful in another way that readers, who look at the summary, decide whether the page matches his/her requirement.

Interest: Readers, with reasonable amount of interest in the topic, go through all the sub-headings, major points, highlighted text, excerpts and conclusion statement, along with the summary.

More Interest: Readers with interest can go through the entire write-up right from the title to the conclusion statement.
