Guidelines for e-book designing

While designing an e-book, keep below mentioned guidelines in view.

Ø      When you want to convert a Word file into PDF file, it is always advisable to use Adobe Acrobat
Ø      If you do not have Adobe Acrobat, you can use PDF converter as good many of such software are available freely over Internet.
Ø      It is not advisable to use free PDF conversion software to create a PDF file as most of such files do not contain hyperlinks and you cannot create bookmarks within the document.
Ø      PDF files are more advisable than any other types of e-books as they are smaller in size and you can download them easily.
Ø      You can take the help of a graphic designer to design a cover page.  Or else, you can use an e-book cover generator.
Ø      Ms-Publisher is another e-book designing tool.  In fact, Ms-Publisher enables you to create a nice cover page for your e-book.  However, the tool has become out of use largely. Hence, it not advisable to use the tool.
Ø      While creating web pages, keep the pages simple, clean, and easy to read.
Ø      Use images only when they are mandatory and add value to your content.
Ø      If all the pages of a pre-existing hard book are scanned and then, all such scanned files are compiled into a single file, it is not a real e-book.  Technically speaking, it is a scanned book, which is like a digital book that appears identical to a pre-existing hardcopy.
